Mike Basha, P.Eng., P.Geo.

President and CEO, Director

Mr. Basha has been working in the mineral exploration industry for 29 years with major and junior exploration companies both domestically and internationally. His experience includes project generation, fieldwork, and senior management in gold, base-metal and magmatic nickel-copper-platinum group elements exploration. Mr. Basha was instrumental in the discovery of the Hammerdown Gold deposit in Newfoundland and was formerly Vice President Exploration of Cornerstone Capital Resources Corp., heading up the generative initiative that led to development of a large portfolio of successful ventures for Cornerstone in Canada and Ecuador. Mr. Basha holds degrees in geology and engineering and in addition to his exploration experience has worked as a consulting geotechnical and environmental engineer in the past. Mr Basha is a principal and major shareholder of Aurion.

Dennis N. Clarke, B.A., LL.B., LL.M.


Mr. Clarke is a Partner with Goodland Buckingham, Barristers and Solicitors. He has practiced law for the past twenty years, specializing in Corporate and Business, Energy and Natural Resources and Mergers and Acquisitions sectors. He recently represented Nalcor Energy in the negotiation and finalization of a major hydro deal between the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia. He served as assistant corporate secretary and general external counsel to FPI Ltd, a former TSE listed company, and has represented a number of junior mining companies and junior oil and gas companies, providing advice and general counsel on joint operating agreements, royalty agreements, farm-in and farm-out agreements, and general regulatory compliance.

Richard A. Graham, P. Geol.


Richard Graham is a Professional Geologist, registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and has approximately 25 years of geological experience, including 9 years in the management, development and governance of public companies conducting worldwide mineral exploration. During his career Mr. Graham has been the founding President or a founding Director of over 10 junior resource companies that advanced to public-listings on the CSE, TSX or TSXV. A qualified person (“QP”) under National Instrument 43-101 for many deposit types, Mr. Graham has completed numerous Technical Reports, written numerous Press Releases, as well as completing global mine/mineral property evaluations for short term debt financings ranging from $1 million to over $60 million and equity financings ranging from $500,000 to over $150 million. Mr. Graham has a Bachelor of Science, Specialization in Geology, (1988) from the University of Alberta, has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course.

David Lotan


Mr. Lotan is the President of LHI an investment company focused on natural resource opportunities. In his previous career David was the founder and CEO of the structured finance operations of Polar Capital – a Canadian merchant bank and alternative asset manager, acted as a portfolio manager for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and was a risk management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers focused on commodities and rates. Mr. Lotan is a Chartered Accountant and CPA.

David Loveys, CPA, C.A.

Corporate Secretary, Director

Mr. Loveys’ experience has been primarily with Canadian publicly traded companies operating in the domestic and international markets. He has held senior financial positions with CHC Helicopter Corporation, the NewTel Group of Companies and Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. He successfully completed the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, Canadian Securities Course in 1987.

Matti Talikka, M.Sc., FAusIMM(CP)

Independent Director

Mr. Talikka is a geologist with experience in the fields of geological research, mineral exploration, project development, mining and minerals processing. He has held senior technical and management positions in exploration, mining and minerals processing technology companies. Between 2007 and 2015 he was employed by Dragon Mining Limited where he held several positions including General Manager Exploration. Currently Mr. Talikka works as Director, Geometallurgy and Project Evaluation for technology group Outotec.

Mr. Talikka is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and Chartered Professional under the discipline of Geology.

Mark Serdan, CPA, CA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Serdan has over 20 years’ experience working in the capital markets industry where he specialized in evaluating resource companies. Prior to joining Aurion, Mr. Serdan was a Portfolio Manager for approximately 15 years at BMO Asset Management (7 years) and UBS Global Asset Management (8 years), where he was responsible for making investments in the resource sector and for managing the firm’s resource funds. He won the Lipper Award numerous times through the years, awarded annually to the top performing fund manager among his peers in the category. Mr. Serdan also previously worked 5 years at BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Banker and a Research Associate. Mr. Serdan has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) designations.

Lisa Hodge


Ms. Hodge holds degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland and for more than 25 years has worked in management and accounting for both public and privately held companies. She has held the positions of accountant, Corporate Secretary, Treasurer and CFO and brings a vast knowledge of financial reporting, corporate governance and public company regulatory compliance.

Mathias Forss, M.Sc.

Exploration Manager Scandinavia

Mr. Forss has a M.Sc. degree in Geology and Mineralogy degree from Åbo Akademi University in Finland. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Scandinavian GeoPool, a geological consulting firm based in Finland with a subsidiary in Sweden.

His main expertise is in project and land management for early to advanced stage exploration projects. He has worked on projects in several different geological settings including gold, base metals, iron ore and fluorspar within the Nordic countries of Finland, Sweden and Norway. Fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English, Mr. Forss is an effective liaison with regulatory authorities, local landowners and other stakeholders. He is also proficient in Spectral Geochemical Analysis and has worked abroad in this capacity.

Eugene Flood, P.Geo.

Technical Advisor

Eugene Flood is a professional geologist with more than 32 years exploration experience in multiple commodities including gold, diamonds and copper in Canada and globally. He discovered the ULU gold deposit in Nunavut, Canada and was a key member of the exploration team that discovered and advanced the Doris and Boston gold deposits in Hope Bay, Nunavut. Mr Flood specializes in geospatial mineral prospectivity analysis and has experience from reconnaissance to resource development with junior and major mining companies. He is currently acting as a consulting technical advisor to this project for Aurion.

Miles Thompson


Miles is an exploration geologist, with over 30 years’ experience working on natural resource projects in around the globe, including precious and base metals, industrial minerals, oil & gas and renewable energy. He is a founder of South American explorer Lara Exploration (LRA.V) and Europe-Africa explorer Reservoir Minerals (RMC.V). Miles was part of the discovery team that was winner of the Thayer Lindsley Award at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada for Reservoir Minerals’ Cukaru Peki Copper Gold Discovery in Serbia, that led to the sale of the company to Nevsun in June 2016 for over US$500 million.  Before entering the junior world in 2006, Miles was Manager of Business Development at Gold Fields Exploration, where his responsibilities included working on joint ventures and acquisitions in the Americas, Africa and Eurasia.
